From a simple sketch, Focus fireplaces take form: true strokes of genius signed by Dominique Imbert. How are they made? Who are the experts that design and craft them? For 50 years, Focus has been forging a perfect balance between creativity and demanding technical standards.
Focus metalworkers manufacture the fittings for every fireplace stove, this makes every fireplace unique.Â
From designing fires to the administration offices to the workshops this in-house company can quickly adapt, hence producing the most interesting fireplace collection in the world.Â
DOMINIQUE IMBERT –Â Â
The Creator of Focus Dominque Imbert is not only an artist and designer but a humanist and visionary. Born in the South of France in 1940 he had a wide and varied work adventure as an ethologist in Alaska after studying literature in London and Paris, later becoming an assistant chef in Manhatton, and eventually being awarded a Doctorate at the Sorbonne, after teaching history for four years he realized his future lay in shaping metal.
In the foothills of Cevennes in a beautiful medieval village in Garrigue north of Montpelier, he began sculpting and forging metal.
Focus - Made in France
Still to this day, Focus remains in the exquisite little village Viols-le-Fort in the original stone house renovated by Dominique Imbert. The Antefocus was the first design to have originated from the property and is still the head office today.
Quite a monumental achievement from this quaint secluded hamlet fireplaces export throughout the world.
