DOMINIQUE IMBERT –Â Â
The Creator of Focus Dominque Imbert is not only an artist and designer but a humanist and visionary. Born in the South of France in 1940 he had a wide and varied work adventure as an ethologist in Alaska after studying literature in London and Paris, later becoming an assistant chef in Manhatton, and eventually being awarded a Doctorate at the Sorbonne, after teaching history for four years he realized his future lay in shaping metal.
In the foothills of Cevennes in a beautiful medieval village in Garrigue north of Montpelier, he began sculpting and forging metal.
Still to this day, Focus remains in the exquisite little village Viols-le-Fort in the original stone house renovated by Dominique Imbert. The Antefocus was the first design to have originated from the property and is still the head office today.
Quite a monumental achievement from this quaint secluded hamlet fireplaces export throughout the world.
Laurent Gaborit and Jean Marc Chalier and Mathieu Gritti and Jean-François Perrier head of the production site in Cavaillon have brought their resources together to create and maintain high levels of forwarded thinking for the world leader in fireplace concepts and design.
